About us

Ciara Paramore

Paediatric Dietitian

I completed a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (Honours) in 2009 at the University of Wollongong, and from there went on to work in Food Security for the Australian Red Cross. This really cemented my interest in social justice and working with vulnerable groups. I later worked as a Public Health Nutritionist in the remote communities of Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, developing a special interest in babies that weren’t growing well, and seeing some of the most beautiful and remote parts of our country. I later moved to London and worked as a Children’s Centres Dietitian, and then as a Special Schools Dietitian, building my expertise in working with children who have disabilities. I worked in schools that were specifically for children who have neurological disabilities such as cerebral palsy (lots of tube feeding), and other schools for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (lots of selective eating) – it was a very strong multidisciplinary team approach and I learned a huge amount from my allied health colleagues.

On returning to Australia I was lucky enough to land my dream job at the Children’s Hospital Westmead as the Deputy Head of Department for Nutrition and Dietetics, specialising in Inborn Errors of Metabolism and Paediatric Intensive Care. I left the big smoke and moved back to my home town of Albury in 2019 to start a family. I opened my private practice at the beginning of 2021, which has been a wonderful adventure so far. I have always had a strong interest in working collaboratively with families to support their unique journeys with infant and child feeding and nutrition. I have a strong skill set in working with children who are selective or fussy eaters, including children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I hope to be a useful resource to the local community, particularly families who have children with disabilities.

I have recently developed a strong interest in supporting adults with concerns about the shape and size of their body, who are interested in working with a weight-neutral framework. I’m hoping to support people who have eating disorders, disordered eating or body image issues to reconnect with food and their bodies, and to find a sense of peace and freedom in how they eat and interact with food.

I’m a parent to two beautiful little people, and am currently experiencing the joys of parenting fussy eaters myself! We live near the Murray river in Albury, NSW and we love helping on the family farm and growing veggies in the backyard.

Jodie Sandral

Adult and Paediatric Dietitian

I live on a small property in Wahgunyah Victoria, with my husband, four children and a multitude of animals.

I completed a Bachelor of Health Science (Nutrition and Dietetics) in 2007 at Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga. For over 15 years I have worked at a number of local area health services in community health, private practice, small regional hospitals and nursing homes. This has allowed me to see a broad range of people of all ages. I have helped parents with introducing solids, fussy eating, helped adults and children with food intolerances, diabetes, weight concern, malnutrition and aged care. I have also supported people in palliative care, Motor Neurone Disease and cancer.

I have a strong interest in eating disorders and supporting people with concerns about their body shape and size. My passion is helping people reconnect with their body and enjoyment of eating, bringing the choice back to them instead of living by the multitude of food rules and diets that create problems. I understand that events that happen in our lives impact the way we eat and the way we view food and our success with making change. Having knowledge of what you “should be doing” and being able to do it is not necessarily easy, therefore I enjoy working with people to make small sustainable changes to reach their goals.

I have also completed a diploma in counselling specialising in Equine Assisted Therapy. If you are interested in Equine Assisted Therapy check out my website https://bewellandeat.com.au/

Brydie Pendergast

Adult and Paediatric Dietitian

I have completed a Bachelor of Food and Nutrition Science and a Master of Dietetics, both at Deakin University, finishing in 2021. Having grown up in Benalla, I am thrilled to find a career that I love, while still getting to enjoy our beautiful region.

I now live in the city of Wodonga, with my partner and two Border Collies. I adore spending time in the garden, working on my veggie patches and creating habitats for local wildlife with diverse native plants. My favourite foods are ever evolving - currently my pick is Mac and Cheese or Yellow Nectarines.

Since leaving university, I have had the pleasure of working across a few different health settings, including inpatient hospital work, community heath, NDIS and private practice dietetics, and health promotion. In this time, I have built clinical experience and completed formal training in Paediatric Nutrition and Dietetics, Responsive Feeding Therapy (think selective eating and ARFID support), Inclusive Approaches to Feeding Challenges in Neurodivergent Children, Eating Disorders, Home Enteral Nutrition (tube and PEG fed kids), Disability Nutrition, and Size-Inclusive Health.

I welcome referrals for a large array of challenges we have with food, and can offer a judgement-free space to decipher what plan works best for each situation. I ask a lot of questions and welcome a lot of questions from my clients, and have good local connections to work collaboratively with any multidisciplinary team. I am flexible in my work - I can see you in our clinic, at your home, or via telehealth.
